FORT MYERS — Lee Physician Group has promoted Dr. Leah Lynch to system medical director of clinical quality initiatives and informatics.

In her new role, Dr. Lynch will be responsible for leading the Practice Transformation Network within the former Lee Memorial Health System. Funded by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the network provides technical assistance for medical practices working to achieve the Triple Aim — defined as providers who provide better patient experiences, better care and lower costs.

The work will help Lee Physician Group keep people healthy and improve the health of those with chronic conditions, according to a statement.

“Dr. Lynch will work with clinicians and staff as we transition to value-based payments by providing education, tools and support to improve clinical documentation of care and reduce variations in care through practice standardization,” says Dr. Scott Nygaard, Lee Health's chief medical and chief clinical integration officer, in the release.

Lynch joined Lee Physician Group in 1995, as a doctor specializing in internal medicine. She has also worked as the healthcare provider's medical director of informatics.

“I am excited and ready for the challenge to improve both the health of our patient community and the overall experience of patients, clinicians and staff,” Lynch says.
