ST. PETERSBURG — Full-service ad agency Evolve & Co. plans to move its headquarters into the historic Kress building in the downtown St. Petersburg Central Arts District .

The S. H. Kress and Co. Building, 475 Central Ave., was part of the S. H. Kress & Co. “five and dime” department store chain. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places Oct. 1, 2001, according to a statement.

The boutique agency's headquarters was previously in the Station House. But “an insurgence of growth in the past 12 months” required the company to move, according to a statement.

“We shopped all over downtown St. Petersburg for the perfect space. It was when we were referred to the Rab Land Group and toured the Kress building, we knew the building would be the perfect place for our budding team to prosper,” says Evolve & Co. President Lisa Williams in the statement. “We love the energy of the district, how beautifully restored the building is and the accessibility to St. Pete's art and food scene.”

Evolve & Co., consisting of copywriters, web developers, graphic designers, videographers, photographers and brand managers, specializes in lifestyle brands.
