Tech firm names global executive

CLEARWATER — Global wholesale technology product distributor Tech Data named Deena LaMarque Piquion vice president and general manager of the firm's Latin America and Caribbean markets.

Piquion will oversee the strategic direction and execution of all sales, marketing and operations functions for the company's Latin American and Caribbean region, including its Miami-based Latin America Export division, according to statement. She will report to Jeff Bawol, senior vice president, Enterprise Solutions.

“Deena's experience in the LAC region, as well as her solutions-focused approach to driving success for our vendor partners and customers, make her an ideal fit for this role,” says Joe Quaglia, president, Americas at Tech Data, in the statement. “We are excited about the opportunities ahead in the LAC region and are confident in Deena's ability to take the business to new heights.”

Piquion joined Tech Data in September 2000 as an MBA rotational associate working on strategic projects throughout the Latin America region. During her tenure with the company, she has held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as vice president, Latin America Export since June 2016.

Clearwater-based Tech Data posted $26.2 billion in net sales for fiscal 2017. It's ranked No. 107 on the Fortune 500.
