BABCOCK RANCH — Babcock Ranch, the fast-growing master-planned community and solar-powered town between Fort Myers and Sarasota, has signed another homebuilder to the project: Pulte Homes.

Pulte will introduce a variety of floor plans at prices attractive to young families and empty nesters, according to a statement.

“Pulte is an outstanding addition to our roster of builders,” says Syd Kitson, Chairman and CEO of Kitson Partners, the developer behind Babcock Ranch, in the statement. “In addition to being one of the pre-eminent residential builders in the nation, they share our passion and commitment to creating a whole new, sustainable way of living at Babcock Ranch.”

Pulte will be building a new neighborhood, Parkside at Babcock Ranch, just southeast of Founder's Square. Homes, on 50-foot lots, are priced in the $200s to mid $300s, according to the statement.

Other homebuilders in Babcock Ranch include Naples-based Fox Premier Builders, Homes by Towne and Stock Development.

Straddling the border of Charlotte and Lee counties, the environmentally friendly Babcock Ranch is projected to eventually be home to about 50,000 people, 19,500 homes and six million square feet of commercial space.
