Downtown St. Petersburg's TEC Garage has added five more clients.

The Technology and Entrepreneurship Center, an incubator and co-working hub created by the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, now has a total of 25 to 30 clients a month. Tampa Bay Innovation Center President and CEO Tonya Elmore says five additional clients are in the pipeline now, and a handful have graduated from the program since December.

TEC Garage companies cover three main sectors, she says — software as a service, web apps and medical devices. The five new clients include:

• AgileMinder: Mark McDonnell founded this company that helps other companies and individuals improve performance and happiness. Its Emoji Scale helps gauge performance analytics and insights and is used to derive recommendations for improvements.

• Central Digital Publishing: Richard DeSimine created the website WordPlays.com in 1999. The site offers word games and word game solver tools.

• Cohesion Education: This online platform led by Jim Szewc is geared toward families that want to contribute to their child's educational success. The interactive product provides solutions for individual students.

• Elinq: DeShaun Johnson founded Elinq, a company that pairs students with other students and mentors. It aims to provide tools and resources to students to help them succeed educationally.

• Oakhurst Signs: Josh Buttitta is the president and CEO of Oakhurst Signs, which works with apartment management companies, builders and owners nationwide to design, manufacture and install signs.

Team members from each company will come to TEC Garage for meetings and educational sessions. Says Elmore: “The more we can build companies like this that can attract tech talent to this region, the better for the area.”
