LAKEWOOD RANCH — First quarter home sales in the master-planned community of Lakewood Ranch in east Manatee County increased 98% over the same period in 2016.

Between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2016, 161 homes were sold in the 31,000-acre community. This year during quarter one, 318 homes were sold. In March of last year, 42 homes were sold compared to 114 homes sold this year during the month.

“We are seeing solid sales across all villages, price points and product types,” says Vice President of Marketing for LWR Communities LLC Laura Cole in a press release.

Lakewood Ranch was named the fourth bestselling master-planned community in the U.S. for 2016, according to a statement. It was in the top 10 for the previous five years.

There are more than 20 builders in Lakewood Ranch with upward of 50 models ranging in price from $200,000 to over $1 million.
