ELLENTON — The Sarasota-Manatee division of M/I Homes purchased 47 single-family home sites in a gated community in north Manatee County.
Terms of the purchase weren't disclosed.
The M/I Homes unit bought the sites in Bougainvillea Place, a 107-home site community at 2602 East 61st Ave., Ellenton. It's the first land purchase for the recently established division, and will include the revitalization and completion of the maintenance-free neighborhood, according to a release.
Homes will range from 1,750 to more than 3,000 square feet under air with two to four bedrooms, as well as a den and/or bonus room and two- to three-car garages. Prices are in the $300s. M/I Homes will begin model construction at the end of April, according to the statement, and intends to open a sales office in May in the community clubhouse, which already includes a fitness center and deck lounge.
“Bougainvillea Place has a lot of hidden potential, and M/I Homes is seeing to it that dozens more people find a home here that they can be proud of, in an attractive and convenient location,” says M/I Homes Area President David Hunihan in the release.
M/I Homes opened a Sarasota-Manatee division last year. The Columbus, Ohio-based firm is the 14th largest single-family homebuilder in the nation, according to Builder Magazine.
