The Lee County Port Authority's Page Field has received national recognition for its business operations from Aviation International News.
The airport, which the authority operates along with the Southwest Florida International Airport, was ranked among the Top 10 percent of fixed-based operators internationally for its Base Operations business arm.
It also has been listed as one of the Top 20 fixed-base operators in the Americas, according to the publication.
The designation marked the fifth consecutive year that Page Field's Base Operations had been honored by Aviation International, a monthly and bi-weekly trade publication. The annual survey of fixed-base operators began in 2013.
The survey is conducted annually and asks pilots, dispatchers and flight attendants for feedback on customer care and general aviation service throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada, South and Central America and the Caribbean.
More specifically, AIN asks respondents to evaluate line service, passenger and pilot amenities, facilities and customer care representatives.
Page Field focuses exclusively on providing service to corporate, some commercial and private aviators. Southwest Florida International, by contrast, is one of the state's busiest airports for passenger traffic.
