A home in northeast Manatee County shipped down the Manatee River in 1920 is for sale with a $1.2 million list price.

Neighbors say the two-story home at 307 15th Ave. W. is one of two Sears kit homes on the Palmetto waterfront, according to a statement. Donna Shore Western, daughter of R.B. “Chips” Shore, former Manatee County Court Clerk who died last year, is the owner of the home. Kathy Marlowe with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate is the lead broker on the listing.

Sears kit homes, says Marlowe, were sold between 1908 and 1940 and had to be assembled after bring delivered. This listing, on nearly one-half acre, has 90 feet of river frontage on the Palmetto side of the Manatee River and offers direct access to Tampa Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, the release states. The property, 3,248 square feet under air, includes a main home with three bedrooms and three baths and a separate one-bedroom cottage with kitchen, bath, living room and a wrap-around deck.

Other features of the home include: high ceilings, windows and moldings from the era it was built; nearly a dozen pieces of stained glass created by an artist who used to own the property; and generously sized rooms that include a receiving room, dining room, and two offices, one with a water view off the sun porch.
