The Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate office on Longboat Key scored some big coups in August.

Not just in sales. The office also snagged some high-volume brokers from two major competitors.

One is the Abbe/Mullinnix team, Steve Abbe and Betty Mullinnix, formerly of Berkshire Hathaway Home-Services Florida Realty. The team, according to a statement, includes Gene Bretoi, Mullinnix's husband who is also a licensed Realtor and Joan Marie Erni, team coordinator. Mullinnix has been in real estate for more than 30 years, and Abbe, a onetime U.S. Marine, has been a Realtor since 2004. Real estate partners since 2007, the team posted $20.1 million in sales volume last year and has already surpassed that mark in 2016.

The office's other new brokers are sisters Stephanie and Courtney Church, formerly of Michael Saunders & Co. Stephanie Church, the release states, was one of the top individual producers at Michael Saunders in 2015, with $40 million in sales volume. A Georgia native, she started her real estate career in 1994, selling lakefront properties in South Carolina and Georgia. She moved to Sarasota in 2001. Courtney Church joined her sister in real estate at Michael Saunders in 2012.
