Tampa-based Dex Imaging, one of the largest independent dealers of document imaging equipment and content management software in the eastern United States, has acquired Sarasota-based Omega Office Systems.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Area entrepreneur Kevin Logan founded Omega Office Systems in 2000. The company, a Kyocera and Xerox dealership with service coverage from Naples to New Port Richey, had $3 million in sales last year and 15 employees, according to a statement. “We are pleased to join forces with a company that shares our same value proposition for quality,” Logan says in the release. “Dex Imaging has a proven track record of innovation and service excellence from which our customers will benefit.”

The Omega deal is Dex Imaging's third acquisition in fiscal 2016. The company, with projected revenues of more than $250 million in 2016, now has 35 branch operations and more than 1,000 employees, according to the release.

“The addition of Omega boosts our existing solutions and service offerings in territories where we already do business, providing our customers with even more choices and additional technical manpower,” Dex Imaging CEO Dan Doyle Jr. says in the release.

Dex Imaging was founded in 2002 as a single start-up operation with eight employees.
