Budge Huskey, a onetime Florida executive for NRT and Coldwell Banker, working out of Sarasota, has been named president of Naples-based Premier Sotheby's International Realty.

Huskey, most recently president and CEO of Coldwell Banker, based in New Jersey, will report directly to Premier Sotheby's International Realty CEO Judy Green, according to a company-wide memo. Huskey will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the company, according to the statement, which will allow Green “to focus on strategic initiatives and continued growth” of the company.

Premier Sotheby's posted sales volume of $4.1 billion in 2015, up 19% over 2014, and has 35 offices throughout Florida and North Carolina.

Huskey joins another former Coldwell Banker executive, Sue Wolverton, at Premier Sotheby's. Wolverton was named an executive vice president at Premier Sotheby's in April. She had been a senior vice president of the Southwest Florida region for Coldwell Banker, based in Sarasota, where she oversaw 950 sales associates in nearly 20 offices from Naples and Marco Island north to Bradenton.

Huskey retired from his last leadership post with NRT/Coldwell Banker in June. He had been with the company for 18 years. In the early and mid-2000s, Huskey oversaw the firm's residential and commercial brokerage units from Panama City to Marco Island. A native of the Central Florida region, Huskey has been named to several national lists of the most powerful people in real estate, including the Inman Top 101 last year.

Similar to with Wolverton, Green has known and respected Huskey's work in the industry for decades.

“I've known Budge since the early days of our real estate careers in Central Florida, and his leadership skills and expertise led to my selecting him to succeed me in several key positions over the years in former companies,” Green says in the memo. “My confidence in his ability to accelerate our future success while ensuring our foundational focus on quality is the reason I'm doing so again at Premier Sotheby's International Realty.”

Adds Green: “I would not have chosen Budge if I did not know that his interests and character would be a match for the culture of our company.”

Green adds that Huskey will provide her time to focus on other roles. “Since we have expanded our footprint one of the concerns that I have had personally is that I have not been able to be in the field spending time with the managers and associates,” Green says. “With Budge joining our team, together we will be able to be out there where we need to be, listening, learning and hopefully making a difference each and every day. This also gives me the opportunity to focus more strategically on the needs of our company.”
