A third homebuilder, Naples-based Fox Premier Builders, has begun construction at Babcock Ranch, one of the largest proposed master-planned communities on the west coast of Florida.

Fox Premier joins Homes by Towne and Stock Development in building homes in Lake Timber, Babcock Ranch's first neighborhood, according to a statement. Lifestyle Homes of Fort Myers is expected to begin construction of additional models later this month, the release adds. Models are expected to be open for viewing in early 2017

Fox Premier plans to build three furnished lakefront model residences in Lake Timber. Base prices start in the $300s and are situated on 50 or 60 x 130-foot home sites. Plans include covered front porches that allow the home to live from front to back while encouraging interaction with neighbors, the release states. Homes also include front yard spaces, rear porches and backyards with living fences.

Straddling the border of Charlotte and Lee counties in Southwest Florida, Babcock Ranch will eventually be home to about 50,000 people, 19,500 homes and six million square feet of commercial space. Kitson & Partners has invested more than $175 million in the project and will spend another $125 million for the first phase through 2019, according to bond documents.
