Fort Myers-based CPR Tools Inc., Sarasota's Gecko's Hospitality Group and North Fort Myers electricity distributor Lee County Electric Cooperative are the finalists for the 2016 Business Ethics Award presented by the Uncommon Friends Foundation.
The winner will be announced Nov. 3, during the group's annual Uncommon Evening event in Fort Myers.
Each finalist also will participate in an annual Ethical Leadership Conference hosted by the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University.
A roundtable discussion this year will focus on the ethical challenges Southwest Florida executives face in their business lives.
CPR Tools specializes in data recovery and data security. Gecko's runs a chain of restaurants, including its namesake Gecko's, S'macks Burgers & Shakes and the Dockside Waterfront Grill. The Lee County Electric is a nonprofit electric distributor that serves more than 200,000 customers in Southwest Florida.
Past winners of the Business Ethics award include CRS Technology, Sunshine Ace Hardware, Conditioned Air and the Shell Point Retirement Community.
Formed in 1993, the Uncommon Friends Foundation strives to build lifelong character among area youths and in business leaders. The group's mission is to promote character education in schools and business ethics in the workplace.
