Medical system woos new senior executive

BayCare Health Systems named health care and hospital executive Teri Sholder senior vice president and chief quality officer.

Sholder will lead programs to enhance patient safety, clinical quality and patient satisfaction for Clearwater-based BayCare's hospital network, according to a statement. A nonprofit health system, BayCare oversees 14 hospitals and hundreds of other locations throughout the Tampa Bay and central Florida regions.

"Teri is passionate about doing everything she can to make sure that our patients have the best possible experiences and outcomes when they come to us for help," says BayCare Dr. Bruce Flareau, executive vice president and chief medical officer ay BayCare, in a statement. "We are excited to have her on our team."

Sholder comes to BayCare from Kettering Health Network in Ohio, where she was chief quality officer since 2012. She set the strategic vision and goals for quality and care delivery for Kettering Physician Partners and Kettering Health Network, a system with eight hospitals, 10 emergency departments and 120 outpatient facilities, the release states.
