Foreclosure rates in Sarasota-Manatee declined steadily through 2015, and that trend has continued in early 2016, according to data provider CoreLogic.

The region's foreclosure rate for the month of March fell to 1.57%, down from 2.54% in March 2015. Despite the near full percentage year-over-year decrease, Sarasota-Manatee's foreclosure rate still sits above the national rate of 1.09%, the CoreLogic report says.

Also dipping in the region is the mortgage delinquency rate, the report shows. The percent of mortgage loans that were delinquent by 90 days or more in the counties dropped to 3.23%, down from 5.25% in March 2015.
