CLEARWATER — Technology distributor Tech Data Corp. launched a new business unit focused on preventing customers from cyber threats.
The new Security and Information Management division includes Tech Data's software and network security vendor portfolios, a release says. It is led by 19-year company veteran Tracy Holtz, who was recently appointed director of product marketing, security and information management. Holtz will report to Brian Davis, Tech Data's senior vice president, U.S. marketing.
“The need for security solutions has evolved quickly, and in anticipation of this, Tech Data has laid the foundation for a comprehensive security practice that works for both our security vendors and solution providers,” Holtz says in the statement.
Tech Data's security unit will offer technologies in the areas of network security, data security, enterprise architecture, endpoint security, security intelligence, application security and cloud security, the statement says.
Tech Data Corp. is one of the largest wholesale technology distributors in the world. The company posted $26.4 billion in sales for the fiscal year ended Jan. 31, 2016, according to its annual report.
