SARASOTA — For the third time, Sarasota Memorial Hospital has been recognized in a list by Truven Health Analytics as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States, according to a statement.
The top 100 hospitals were divided into five categories: large community hospitals, medium community hospitals, small community hospitals, major teaching hopitals, and teaching hospitals. Sarasota Memorial was part of the large community hospitals section.
To conduct the top 100 study, Truven evaluated nearly 3,000 hospitals, the statement says. Criteria analyzed included Medicare cost reports, Medicare provider analysis and review data, core measures and patient satisfaction.
Sarasota Memorial is an 819-bed acute care hospital. It gets more than 900,000 patient visits per year.
