TAMPA — Supplemental group health insurance firm BeniComp Insurance Co. relocated its headquarters from Fort Wayne, Ind. to Tampa.

As part of the relocation to 501 E. Kennedy Blvd., BeniComp will bring nine members of its executive team to the region, a statement says. The company hopes to hire at least three more full-time employees within 12 months. BeniComp will maintain its offices and 40 employees in Fort Wayne.

“This location is perfect for us for several reasons,” says BeniComp President and CEO Doug Short in the statement. “We have strong partnerships with large Florida-based insurance companies to bring our insurance solutions to employers here and across the country. We are close to the world's first health and wellness-focused city district and an airport that offers us convenient, direct access to our customers.”

Founded in 1962, BeniComp's supplemental group health insurance product provides outcome-based deductible incentives to improve engagement in a health and wellness initiative. Its patented product is called BeniComp Advantage.
