TAMPA — Hendry Marine Industries and Gulf Marine Corp., a tub-barge shipyard, named Jim Long CEO.
Long took over the position Jan. 18. Gulf Marine and Hendry consolidated into one Tampa-based affiliated company in November, and the hiring of Long is a part of the consolidation plan, according to a statement.
“This area has everything,” Long says in the statement. “Great natural resources, a strong port and a tremendous workforce. It's my goal to leverage all of these positives to make Gulf Marine and this entire area even better.”
Hendry Marine Industries was founded in 1926.
