AVE MARIA — Arthrex plans to add 350 jobs in an additional manufacturing plant the size of nearly four football fields.
“Arthrex is a growing Florida company and hired 260 new employees in just the past year alone,” says Florida Gov. Rick Scott, in a statement announcing the new jobs. The governor was in Naples to announce the new jobs and the additional 218,000 square feet of manufacturing space at Ave Maria in eastern Collier County.
Naples-based Arthrex currently employs more than 2,000 Florida residents, the company says. The privately held firm manufactures surgical equipment for orthopedic surgeons, with more than 9,500 products it has developed.
“Arthrex is pleased to further increase its economic diversification investments in Southwest Florida of over $47 million in 2016 with the continued expansion of Arthrex medical education and two new Arthrex manufacturing east facilities in Ave Maria,” says Reinhold Schmieding, founder and president of Arthrex, in a statement.
In addition to its headquarters in Naples and the manufacturing facility at Ave Maria, Arthrex operates a facility in Fort Myers. The company also has offices in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
Last year, Fortune magazine named Arthrex one of the top 100 companies to work for in the country. You can read a recent story in the Business Observer by clicking here.
