SARASOTA — Starting Feb. 23, WestJet will add a third weekly flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, according to a statement.

The Canadian airline currently offers nonstop seasonal flights — which fly through April 29 — on Saturdays and Sundays between Sarasota and Toronto, the statement says. The third flight will be on Tuesdays.

The addition of the third flight is due to “strong demand to and from Toronto,” Rick Piccolo, president and CEO of the Sarasota airport, says in the statement. “This is a very busy travel period for the Sarasota-Bradenton area, so we look forward to welcoming the additional WestJet flights and its customers.”
