FORT MYERS — Auto dealers Jeff Johnson and Bill Doraty have acquired Fort Myers Mitsubishi.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Johnson and Doraty opened another Mitsubishi dealership, in Bonita Springs, four months ago, according to a release. That was a converted Lincoln dealership. The Bonita Springs store has already made the top 25 in sales for all Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide, the release adds.

“We believe we have tapped into a very good market for our type of automobiles,” says Johnson in the statement. “Mitsubishi is a hot brand right now in the car business. Nissan just acquired a major stake in the company. They believe in their cars and so do we - or we wouldn't have made the decision to make the investment into a second dealership.”

Fort Myers Mitsubishi is at 3388 Fowler St. Fort Myers. The two dealerships combined plan to hire 15 people in 2017, according to the release.
