FORT MYERS — Action Automatic Door & Gate, a garage door and gate installation and service company, named Walter Sprenger president.

Sprenger, who joined Fort Myers-based Action Automatic as CFO in 2005, replaces company founder George Ebel IV as president, according to a statement. Ebel will remain CEO, the statement adds.

Action Automatic, in addition to Sprenger, also promoted gate and access department manager Mike Hill to vice president and named Sales Manager Greg Courtot vice president of business development.

Hill joined the firm in July 2015 to help lead an expansion into the Sarasota-Manatee market from primary serving Charlotte, Collier and Lee counties, according to the statement. Hill has more than 25 years experience in the garage door industry. Courtot joined Action Automatic Door & Gate in April 2000, left in 2008 and returned as a sales consultant in 2013, the statement adds.

“It has been exciting to watch Walt, Mike and Greg grow in their capabilities, skills and contributions to our success over the years,” Ebel says in the release. “It is important to all of us for the company to remain a market leader in the door and operator industry, and having the right leadership in place continues to keep us on that path.”

Action Automatic Door & Gate, with showrooms in Fort Myers and Naples, provides garage door and gate-access system installation and maintenance services for homes and commercial operations from Marco Island to Manatee County.
