Foreclosure rate continues to drop

SARASOTA — The foreclosure rate in Sarasota-Manatee decreased for the sixth month in a row in February, according to data provider CoreLogic.

The area's foreclosure rate fell to 1.67%, down from 2.73% in February 2015, the report says. Despite the significant increase, however, Sarasota-Manatee's rate remains above the national rate of 1.13%. The average foreclosure rate in Florida is 2.20%.

Sarasota-Manatee's 90-plus day delinquency rate also fell significantly in February, the report adds. It dropped to 3.41%, a 2.21 percentage point decrease from February 2015.
