PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Florida Hospital North Pinellas purchased an 114-room King's Inn motel on U.S. 19, one road north of Nebraska Avenue for $3.5 million.
The price equated to $933,333 per acre.

The hospital plans to demolish the motel to use the 3.75-acre parcel for an off-site emergency room. The demolition is scheduled to start this month.

The new facility will be a single-story, 18,500-square-foot building. It will have 24 beds and include X-ray, ultrasound, CT-scan, and laboratory services. Orlando-based HuntonBrady Architects designed the full-service ER.
