Engineering firm makes acquisition

ESTERO — J.R. Evans Engineering acquired Mitchell Engineering Group in Naples, in an effort to expand the firm's land development services.

Estero-based J.R. Evans has developed a reputation for helping building owners and landowners remove their properties from newly drafted federal flood-zone maps. Mitchell's specialty is land development and entitlement.

The acquisition will give J.R. Evans an office in Naples and Chris Mitchell, president of Mitchell Engineering, is now a principal with J.R. Evans. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Evans Engineering, in a statement. “Chris brings new client relationships and significant industry expertise. This is a great addition to our growing company.”
