FORT MYERS — Upscale food purveyor Whole Foods Market has signed a lease to open a 45,000-square-foot store on Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers.

Currently, there are 24 Whole Food Market stores in Florida, including in Naples and Sarasota. An opening date has not yet been scheduled for the Fort Myers store.

“The project is a cooperative effort as we work with Lee County as well as the nearby Brookshire community's homeowners association and owners regarding the design and layout of the proposed project,” says Jeff Garrison, a partner with development firm S.J. Collins Enterprises, in a statement.

The store will be located at the northwest intersection of Daniels Parkway and Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers. The land currently is zoned for commercial, retail, medical and hotel uses.
