Dan Stone, a top franchise executive at The Melting Pot, has been promoted to a new role at the fast-growing firm.

A winner of the Business Observer's 40 under 40 award last year, Stone's new title with Tampa-based Front Burner Brands, parent firm of The Melting Pot, is chief business and people development officer. It's a newly created position.

Stone, according to a statement, will be responsible for The Melting Pot's human resources, learning and development, legal, franchise development and various aspects of strategic planning. “Dan will continue to drive our company's internal and external growth through his vast experience in franchise development, as well as his background in human resources in the hospitality industry,” Front Burner Brands CEO Bob Johnston says in the statement.

Stone was most recently vice president of franchise development for Front Burner Brands and The Melting Pot. The chain operates more than 130 restaurants across 35 states, Canada, Mexico and Southeast Asia, and has more than 20 locations in development worldwide. The chain was also recently ranked No. 1 among 40 casual dining restaurant chains in Nation's Restaurant News' 2015 Consumer Picks report, up from No. 6 out of 38 concepts last year.
