National homebuilder DiVosta Homes purchased 849.79 acres of grazing land north of Tamiami Trail and east of Henderson Drive for $15.36 million.

The price equated to $18,071 per acre.

The property is part of the homebuilder's Winding Cypress community. The more than 1,500-acre community was designed to contain about 800 home lots. This portion of the community will be developed into about 400 homes sites.

According to DiVosta Homes, the gated community will have more than 800 acres of preserve land and 80 acres of lakes. Amenities will include a heated swimming pool and spa, community garden, fitness center, clubhouse, bocce ball and tennis courts and a dog park. Homes will range in size from 1,542 square feet to 2,634 square feet, and prices will start at $270,990.
