SEMINOLE -- Andrew Demott Jr. has expanded his duties at Superior Uniform Group Inc., becoming the uniform program provider's chief operating officer.

Demott will continue as chief financial officer as well, a position he's had with Superior since 1998.

“Andy is integral to the prosperity of Superior Uniform Group, regularly exhibiting the leadership and financial acumen needed to achieve the company's goals,” says Michael Benstock, Superior's CEO, in a release.

Demott came to Superior in the late 1990s from Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he was an audit manager beginning in 1992.

Superior is traded on the Nasdaq under the symbol SGC. Last month it reported first quarter profits to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission of $2 million, or 15 cents per share, on revenue of $46.3 million. That compared to a $1.2 million, or 9 cents per share, profit the year before, on revenue of $41 million.

Shares for the company closed Tuesday after the announcement at $16.82, down nearly 2% from the day before.
