NAPLES — Pulte Homes acquired 507 acres off Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples where it plans to build 548 homes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The transaction includes land from two sellers: Golf Club of Everglades and Olde Florida Golf Club. The 281-acre Golf Club of Everglades site east of Collier Boulevard off Vanderbilt Beach Road includes land for homes, an 18-hole golf course, maintenance facility and clubhouse with dining, pro shop and locker rooms. The second transaction is for 226 acres of land for a new residential community it will call Greyhawk. Olde Florida is retaining adjacent property separated by a wooded buffer that includes its existing 18-hole golf course and club.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to offer new homes in beautiful surroundings next to a prestigious golf club,” says Richard McCormick, president of PulteGroup's South Florida division, in a statement.

Development will begin this month on the new Greyhawk community, with sales to start late this year. Pulte says it has been developing plans for the site for nearly two years and is working with the original golf course architect Rees Jones to redesign four of the existing golf holes to further enhance the course and the new community.

Plans for the new community include an 8,000-square-foot amenity center with a restaurant, Wi-Fi cafe, a fitness studio, and a resort-style pool with a lounging deck and outdoor bar and grill. Residents will have the option to be either full golf or social members of the existing club and have dining privileges at the club restaurant.
