NAPLES -- Tom Ray is the newest member of the Florida Bankers Association's board of directors, serving a two-year term that started this month.
Ray, CEO of Encore Bank in Naples, was nominated by other banking leaders in the state to serve on the board, according to a release. Members of the board are typically chosen based on community involvement, geographic region, and service to the trade organization.
The FBA is a primary lobbying body representing bankers in both Tallahassee and Washington, D.C. It was established in 1888, and boasts a membership of more than 250 financial institutions. Member deposits make up 95% of total deposits in Florida, the FBA says.
Encore Bank operates six locations on the Gulf Coast, including Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, Port Charlotte and Sun City Center.
Other Gulf Coast members of the board, according to the FBA's website, include Alan Langford of First America Bank; Rita Lowman of C1 Bank; Brad McMurtrey of USAmeriBank; Paul Noris of Bank of Central Florida; Bud Stalnaker of Florida Traditions Bank; and Bill West of Bank of Tampa.
