NAPLES — ACI Worldwide extended its contract to process tax payments for the Internal Revenue Service for another five years.

Since 2000, Naples-based ACI has processed $14 billion worth of tax payments through its OfficialPayments.com site. The company says it has seen a 600% increase in payments via mobile devices.

“We are very excited to continue our relationship with the IRS; this marks the third consecutive time that the IRS has awarded us a 5-year RFP, which validates the flexibility, scalability and overall power of OfficialPayments.com,” says Carolyn Homberger, group president of ACI Worldwide, in a statement.

Customers of OfficialPayments.com include the IRS, 23 state governments, the District of Columbia, more than 3,000 local municipalities and counties in the U.S., 350 colleges and 450 utility companies.

ACI Worldwide manages electronic payments and banking for more than 5,600 financial institutions, retailers, billers and processors around the world. ACI software processes $13 trillion each day in payments and securities transactions for more than 300 of the leading global retailers and 18 of the world's 20 largest banks.
