Ever wonder how much the Gulf Coast is worth?

A look at household net worth provided by the National Association of Realtors shares an interesting picture, revealing there is a little more than $685 billion in wealth for the nine counties that span from Polk to Collier.

The region's most populated county, Hillsborough, also has the largest concentration of net worth, with $150.3 billion. Neighboring Pinellas is close behind with $149.8 billion. Both counties boast the highest average annual salary, with Hillsborough close to $1,000 per week.

When it comes to average household net worth, however, it's a much different story. Hillsborough's $384,000 average ranks it just fifth on the Gulf Coast, with Pinellas once again right behind.

Collier County leads the way in average household net worth. Although the total net worth is $100 billion less than Hillsborough, the average net worth in Collier is 51% higher. Sarasota and Lee counties also are above $400,000, with Manatee just missing the mark.

Pasco is one county with some catching up to do. Its average salary is among the smallest in the region, at just less than $37,000, and that reflects its average net worth, bigger than only Polk.

The average net worth in the region was $389,450, for nearly 1.8 million households.
