PORT CHARLOTTE — Sunshine Ace Hardware has acquired Morton's Ace Hardware in Port Charlotte.

This is Naples-based Sunshine Ace's first location in Charlotte County, and the seventh store in the family owned chain. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We were interested in Morton's Ace Hardware because of the great business they had built and their culture of service that aligned with the values that we commit to as an organization,” says Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace, in a statement. “We are looking for locations throughout Florida where we feel there is an opportunity to build on strong, long-term relationships in a growing community.”

The Waksler family established and has operated Morton's Ace since 1979. The Port Charlotte store measures 12,500 square feet and employs 25 people.

In addition to Port Charlotte, Sunshine Ace Hardware has locations in Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs and Fort Myers.
