TAMPA — Dow Electronics announced plans to acquire Kenner, La.-based Eagle Distributors LLC, which distributes home theater products, mobile electronics and appliances to retailers in five states across the South.
Terms of the deal weren't released and the two firms are working toward a final agreement that could close in mid-to-late February, according to a release.
Tampa-based Dow says the purchase will provide three additional distribution centers, new territory coverage, a larger customer list and enhanced vendor relationships. Eagle Distributors currently serves retailers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas from distribution centers in Dallas, Houston and Kenner, outside New Orleans.
“This acquisition will allow Dow to expand our territory into Texas and Oklahoma as well as fortify our position as a leading custom integration/consumer electronics and 12 Volt distributor,” Dow Executive Vice President John Yodzis says in the press release. “Eagle's customer base and sales force should integrate seamlessly into DOW's operation.”
Dow Electronics is one of the largest independently owned and operated electronics distributors in the Southeast United States.
