PLANT CITY — Gordon Food Service, a Wyoming, Mich.-based food distributor, is adding at least 100 jobs in its Plant City location through a 160,000-square-foot expansion.

Construction on the expansion is already underway and should be completed in 2016, according to a statement. It includes the addition of 90,000 square feet of cooler space and 70,000 square feet of freezer space.

“Plant City's central location and easy access to the I-4 corridor provided us with the perfect location to expand our distribution center and increase service to our customers across Central Florida,” says Kirk Zell, general manager of Gordon Food Service, in a statement.

Gordon Food Service, founded in 1897, initially established its operations in Plant City in 2010. The company is already hiring for its new positions.
