FORT MYERS — Miami-based Jaxi Builders announced plans to start selling condos in downtown Fort Myers, the first condo development here since the recession.

Jaxi is opening a sales center at the Fort Myers City Pier for a project called Allure. The development will include two towers with 292 condos, where prices will start in the $300,000 range.

The Allure towers will be located at 2601 First Street on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, east of the Edison Bridge. Amenities include a fitness center, a movie theater, a rooftop garden and an infinity edge pool.

The sales center at the City Pier at 1300 Hendry Street will feature a full-scale model of a condo with a kitchen, living room and dining room on display. Construction is scheduled to begin on the towers in 2017.
