NAPLES — Seaside National Bank & Trust named H. Wayne Griest president of the Naples-Fort Myers market to spearhead the Orlando-based bank's growth in Southwest Florida.

Seaside opened in 2006 with one office in downtown Orlando and $54 million capital. The bank now has 15 offices statewide and $1.7 billion in assets. In addition to the Naples office at 3001 Tamiami Trail North, the bank also has locations in Sarasota and Tampa.

A 35-year banking veteran, Griest was previously a founder, president and CEO of Continental Bank Holdings in Pennsylvania until 2014 when the bank was sold. Griest has owned a second home in Naples for 10 years and became a Florida resident last year.

“We are thrilled to have Wayne join the Seaside team,” says Gideon Haymaker, Seaside's CEO, in a statement. “His extensive expertise in executive management, all areas of commercial real estate lending, brokerage and investment management, as well as traditional commercial and private banking makes him an outstanding candidate to lead our Naples-Fort Myers team.”
