NAPLES — Community Health Systems named Scott Lowe market CEO for the two hospitals it operates as Physician Regional Healthcare System in Naples.

Physicians Regional Healthcare System is comprised of Physicians Regional-Pine Ridge and Physicians Regional-Collier Boulevard. Lowe has served as the CEO at Physicians Regional-Collier Boulevard for the past two years and as the system's chief financial officer since 2011.

Lowe joined Cleveland Clinic Florida in 1998 as part of the management team that developed and opened the Naples campus, and he remained director of finance for all Florida operations until 2005. He was the CFO of Surgery Partners in Tampa from 2005 to 2008 prior to returning to Naples to be CFO of Physicians Regional-Collier Boulevard.

Physicians Regional-Pine Ridge has operated in Naples since 1999. Naples-based Health Management Associates acquired Physicians Regional-Pine Ridge from Cleveland Clinic in May 2006 and then built and opened Physicians Regional-Collier Boulevard in February 2007. Combined, the two hospitals have 201 rooms and a medical staff of more than 300 physicians.

Tennessee-based Community Health Systems acquired HMA in January 2014. The acquisition formed the largest hospital company in the nation as measured by number of hospital facilities. Physicians Regional Healthcare System is now part of Community Health's network of 206 affiliated hospitals in 29 states.

“Our medical staff has voiced enthusiastic support for the selection of Scott Lowe as market CEO,” says system chief of staff, Daniel Singer, in a statement. “In these times of fast-paced changes in health care delivery, the medical staff appreciates his understanding of the local needs of our community and proven willingness to listen and develop strong relationships with the physicians.”
