FORT MYERS — Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida beat 109 other hospitals rated for patient experience by National Research Corp.

Over 98% of patients told the consulting firm that they were satisfied overall with care. In recognition of this, National Research gave the hospital its 2014 Path to Excellence award.

The children's hospital is part of Lee Memorial Health System and is housed within HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers. Lee Memorial is building a new 128-bed children's hospital on the same campus, the largest construction project in the Lee-Collier area.

“When caring for children we are truly caring for the entire family,” explains Kathy Bridge Liles, chief administrative officer of Golisano Children's Hospital, in a statement. “Many of our patients are here for long periods of time or they return quite often due to serious illness, so we get to know them by name, and at times, we even get to know them on a personal level.”
