ST. PETERSBURG — Greg Murtagh has left the successful online advertising firm he founded in 2004, Triad Retail Media, which grew from a startup to a $250 million business under his leadership.

Triad president and chief operating officer Roger Berdusco has been promoted to CEO, according to a release. Murtagh will remain on the company's board of directors.

Triad has grown to become the largest digital retail media agency in Florida under Murtagh, named Entrepreneur of the Year in the Business Observer in May. It has more than 540 employees worldwide, including 120 added in the past year. Revenues have grown 96.5% since 2011, from $127 million to $249.6 million in 2013. The company moved into a new 65,000-square-foot headquarters in St. Petersburg in 2013 and operates 12 offices in five countries. The investment company Rockbridge Growth Equity acquired majority ownership of Triad Retail Media in 2013.

“After a 10-year run, I've decided to pursue other opportunities,” Murtagh says in the press release. “I've built three companies and have always been an entrepreneur at heart. I feel this is a good time to return to my roots. Leading the company, with Roger by my side for the past nine years, we invented a new industry and had tremendous growth and success with major clients, and I have nothing but confidence that he is the right person to lead the company to the next level.”
