Education technology is a hot sector.

In Naples, a company called MassiveU got another injection of angel capital from locally based investors.

MassiveU got its start as the first creator of online courses designed specifically for mobile phones. So far, MassiveU has raised nearly $1.1 million, including $330,000 most recently from Naples-based Tamiami Angel Fund II, an initial investor in the company.

MassiveU, founded by Angelo Biasi in Naples, is expanding to help content providers, publishers and school-district leaders to create learning programs that help students prepare for college and careers. In addition, the company plans to use the new capital to expand overseas, including working with publishers and content providers in Latin America.
