Naples has its own Top Gun

Sunshine Ace Hardware has a stellar reputation in Naples as the go-to store for home improvement.

Now, the Naples-based retailer will be known more widely because the industry will recognize its president, Michael Wynn, with its Top Gun award May 7 in Las Vegas.

The Top Gun award by the North American Retail Hardware Association, Hardware Retailing magazine and the National Hardware Show recognizes entrepreneurs for their innovation, commitment to their communities and the home-improvement industry. Sunshine Ace has six locations in Southwest Florida, including in Naples, Fort Myers and Marco Island.

Michael Wynn's grandfather, Don Wynn, opened the first Sunshine Ace hardware store in Naples in 1958.
