FORT MYERS — Lee County business owners and residents can relay traffic problems they encounter regularly to road-congestion managers.
The Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking input from road warriors for its annual traffic-congestion reporting survey. You can complete the survey here.
The organization's traffic-management operations committee will review the responses and will address problem locations. Often, problem areas can be fixed by retiming traffic signals, repainting turn lanes or other simple measures.
The organization also will consider more significant changes to traffic issues using federal funds available for road projects. One example of a recent congestion-management project that arose as a result of past surveys is the modification of the intersection of U.S. 41 and Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers by adding a westbound lane on the eastern approach.
