LEHIGH ACRES — Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida broke ground on a medical office building in Lehigh Acres, a bedroom community in Lee County that was hit hard by the foreclosure crisis.

The multi-specialty practice is building a 10,580-square-foot building at 3507 Lee Blvd., one of the main arterial roads in Lehigh Acres. The area has seen a resurgence of commercial development as the economic recovery takes hold and the foreclosure crisis abates.

“These new quarters will allow us to bring our Lehigh Acres offices — pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology and family medicine — all under one roof to accommodate the growth in patients,” says Mary Yankaskas, managing physician, in a statement.

The new facility will include 18 exam rooms, six nurses' stations, six physicians' offices and an ultrasound room. In addition to the six physicians, the new office will house about 20 employees.

Physicians' Primary Care is a physician-owned and operated medical practice that was formed in 1996. Its 45 physicians and medical professionals tend to patients in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres.
