ST. PETERSBURG — LumaStream has won the 2014 Product of the Year award for lighting from the electronics trade publication Commercial Integrator.

The St. Petersburg-based company won for its Trinity DMX 6, a low-voltage wiring product for commercial LED lighting. The LumaStream Trinity DMX allows installers to control both power and lighting over a single, thin-gauge, Class 2 wire to the LEDs.

The award was created to recognize the most noteworthy and innovative solutions for the commercial integration industry and is selected by a panel of trade experts, integrators and editors. The publication described the Trinity DMX 6 as the first all low-voltage wiring solution for commercial LED lighting.

The product is touted as opening the LED lighting market to a wider range of commercial installers — rather than just high-voltage electrical contractors. The product, according to a release, also reduces electrical consumption.
