ST. PETERSBURG— Multichannel retailer HSN Inc. has promoted Maria Martinez to chief human resources officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for talent acquisition and assessment, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, total rewards and wellness programs.

She will continue to be based at the company's headquarters in St. Petersburg.

Martinez has more than 20 years' experience in strategic planning, organizational development and team building. She joined HSN in 1995 as a manager in Human Resources Subsidiaries and was promoted to vice president in 2005.

She then left HSN and went on to hold several senior-level positions in human resources for Bausch & Lomb and Darden Restaurants. She also established the Laser Spine Institute's human resources function and supported the expansion of the organization's business to multiple sites.

Martinez rejoined HSNi in 2010, where she most recently served as senior vice president overseeing talent management for HSN and human resources and talent development for the Cornerstone brands. She is also credited with helping to integrate the Chasing Fireflies brand into HSNi.

“[Martinez] is innovative and results-oriented and her proven track record as a leader and expertise in human resources makes her the perfect candidate for this position,” Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSNi, says in a press release.
