NAPLES — Senior housing operator Vi plans spend $65 million on a redevelopment project at Vi at Bentley Village, a continuing-care retirement community off U.S. 41 in Naples.
Vi, which operates 10 retirement communities in six states, plans to start construction next month on a sales center, 72 independent-living apartments and two clubhouses at Bentley Village. The company says it plans to complete the project by late 2016.
In a statement, company officials say more than 500 people attended sales presentations over a two-day period recently.
The 156-acre Bentley Village opened in 1985 and Vi acquired it in 1992. Founded by Penny Pritzker in 1987, privately held Vi is headquartered in Chicago. Pritzker is currently serving as the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and is a member of the family that founded Hyatt hotels.
